    Description

Used, working condition pumps, for taking area air samples by drawing air through the two black filters(not included) shown at the main picture, can be used for asbestos abatement project or indoor air quality monitoring work, two Gast model 1531 rotary vane pumps, model 1531-107B-G288X, 1/10 HP, 115 volt; there is a constant air flow regulating critical orifice(BGI SO-2, #10, 10 lpm nominal, about 9 lpm actual when connected to a 25mm, 0.8 micron MCE cassette) screwed on to the adapter(BGI SO-5, adapter-orifice for cassettes) for each pump, also included but not shown in the pictures are another two critical orifices(BGI SO-3, 13.5 lpm nominal, about 11 lpm actual when connected to a 25 mm, 0.8 micron MCE cassette), the alternative use of those two sizes of orifices would cover most area air monitoring flow rate requirements, e.g., for PCM 25 mm sample cassette, the flow rate requirement is 5-15 lpm; for 25 mm TEM or 37 TEM sample cassette, the flow rate requirement is 1 to 10 lpm, the use of critical orifice makes the air monitoring work much easier, there is no need to constantly adjust a throttle valve in the field, once the air flow is calibrated with the specific pump and cassette combination, the air flow usually stays the same throughout the field operation; also included, for each pump, there is a two-section screwed-on extension rods capable of raising the cassette intake of air at the usual 3 feet above ground breathing level, which is a universal requirement for air monitoring projects; in summary: two pumps, two sets of 9 feet electrical power wires with plugs, two heavy duty rubber connecting tubes, two cassette adapters, four orifices, 4 extension rods, two wood pump seats, one carrying metal box.   The vacuum gauge shown for each pump serves as a plug of air flow.   The gauges can be replaced by plugs.    The gauges' readings are not good.
