Description
Of all the thimbles we've had over the years, this is perhaps the most rare and difficult to research. We think that the hallmark with a right facing kokoshnik and the number 84, in an oval, indicates that it's .875 silver, and made in Russia between 1908-1926. The Cyrillic letters we think translate to HA ПАМЯТЬ , which we believe means, “to memory” or “as a keepsake”. The thimble is in good condition and quite large. It measures about 1” high and 3/4” in diameter across the bottom. The thimble weighs approximately .25 oz. (7.1 gm)
