    Description

    Rare
    Rheinmetall
    KWG
    mini lathe/mill.nearly complete assortment of accessories.original motor~NICE
    motor,cross slide,chucks,vise,lathe gears,tailstock,etc.
    ~Serial number ; No.43,(cross slide is #39)
Some pieces are known to be missing; drill chuck, collets, collet holder, lathe tool holder.
~this was reported to have been on a WWII German Submarine.made in the 1930's, this was from the the correctย time period.
Allegedly, quantities of these were ordered by the German military in the 1930's.
Although no provenance exists to prove it was actually
    on a U-boat.
This KWG unit is the correct type they used.
This machine is the precursor to the fabled (KWM)KleinWerkstattenMaschine. (later called the UWG1)
The motor is still gray. The rest has been restored and painted black.
    Unfortunately,
The gentleman who had accquired this swore it was on a German Sub.It was his most prized possession.
He died from cancer a few years ago. With his passing, the history of this machine is lost.
~considering the destruction of War and deprivation,(scrap drives) afterwards,Very few of these are known to have survived.
A very rare piece of history!
additional pictures can be furnished upon request.
    appears good working
    some parts have pitting/finish wear
