Artist’s inspiration:
Sometimes when I watch a hula performance, I get chills all over. I feel that when an artist, be it a dancer, musician, culinary chef or other, is an expert at their craft, there is a transformational energy about what they are doing, one that elevates the spirit to an enchanted place.
I was inspired here by what I perceive as a hula dancer getting in touch with a ‘primordial’ energy, when they appear submersed in - to the extent that they have transcended some level and ‘become’ - the dance. Hence, the appearance of the dancer emerging from a ‘primordial,’ dark starry background, with lava rock depicted at the bottom.
Prints are 8x10” and come matted (outer size is 10x12”), printed on archival Watercolor Bright White paper and bagged in clear cellophane bags with a special note addressed to the buyer from the artist.
