PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Listed for your consideration is a vintage German salt glaze stoneware pitcher. Features a relief design of grapes, grape leaves and vines in cobalt blue, Also features two youths carrying a bunch of grapes. The banner running across the pitcher reads: "Trinkt Wie Eure Vater Aus Stein Den Wein." Roughly translated, drink like your fathers, from a stoneware vessel.
There is an incised mark that reads 1L near the rim, which means the pitcher holds 1 liter of liquid. Base is marked "Wick Werke #5022, and the number 8." Stands 8 inches tall. The style of Aktiengesellschaft (AG) Wick-Werke hallmark dates the piece from 1921 to 1960, the latest.
Great addition to any bar or table! Would also make a terrific flower vase or kitchen utensil holder.
