    4 Vintage
    Sterling Silver Collectors Thimbles
    Mid-Late 20th Century * Various Nationalities
    This is an interesting collection of tall solid sterling thimbles (three marked and one tests sterling). From left to right, the first is Scottish. The sides and top are embossed with Celtic knot like designs. The side has the sterling hallmarks for Edinburgh 1987 and the maker's mark for Philip D. A. Campbell. The next thimble is embossed with a view of St Louis with a steam boat, buildings, the arch and the name ILMO.
    It has a wave like rim representing water with mountains in the background. "Sterling" is stamped inside the top along with a symbol or initials, perhaps the maker. This thimble was made for the Illinois/Missouri (ILMO) Thimble Club in 1994.
    The next thimble is from Israel and is stamped "Made in Israel-925" above the applied filigree rim. The Chai symbol, meaning life, is applied to the side. The last thimble isn't marked but tests solid sterling silver. It has a scalloped rim and an overall design of bunches of grapes and vines over a textured ground.
    All are in excellent condition, crisp and in round with no dents, holes or other damage. In order, their American sizes are 12, 9, 9 and 11 . Together they weigh 27.0 grams.
